Mumble info:
The info to connect to my server:
When you add my server:
The Address is: "mumble.sasukeskapa.com"
The port is: "64738" (backup server at port 64739!!!)
For the password ask me privately.
The Label is your choice.
And the username is the name you want to be seen by.
A guide for newcomers:
This is a guide on how to get it running on your PC and how to set it up to sound perfectly :)
First step: (Getting the client.)
Download the client from here: https://www.mumble.info/downloads/
Search the “Download Mumble” section and just choose the Operating System you use and click the link in the Stable Release column. After downloading (mumble-”something”.msi) just click the next until it’s installed and ready to use :)
Second step: (Setting the Client’s sounds up)
Start it and run the Audio Wizard it just needs you to READ what it says and do it as is, but when it asks you to do “Device tuning” DON’T set it lower than 20 ms, otherwise the overhead will be too much and the sound quality will be way lower than it should be :) The rest is perfect as they say :)
If you skipped it, you can find it under the Configure Menu as the Audio Wizard option.
Third step: (Making your certificate / Import your certificate)
NEVER USE the Automatic certificate creation!!!
Either “Create a new certificate” or “Import a certificate” if you have one already.
If you use it for the 1st time than “Create a new certificate” and just follow the wizard, than EXPORT IT and SAVE it to Google Drive or e-mail it to yourself or upload it to Dropbox. You can find it under Configure / Certificate Wizard.
Fourth step: (Adding my / one server and connecting to it)
( If you skipped it before: Server / Connect )
“Add new”
Label: Give a name that you’ll find easily in the server list later.
Address: The IP address of the server. For my server it’s: "mumble.sasukeskapa.com"
Port: 64738 for my server, but it can be different for others. (backup server at port 64739!!!)
Username: The username you want to use on the server.
The server should appear in the server list from before and you can just highlight it and connect to it. The program warns you for private servers that they usually fail verification, but you can just ignore it most of time. (always :D) Than if the server has a password than it should ask for it now and you can just give it to it :)
(For my server’s password ask me by e-mail or somewhere privately.)
Fifth step: (Registering your username on the server)
Just right click on yourself and click on “Register”. If it’s not there than you should ask a server admin to do it for you. (It’s likely that the admin blocked that feature and reserved it for moderators/admins only for security reasons.)
And now you are ready to enjoy speaking privately on a secure private server :)
Troubleshooting:
These are tips that might help you if your client has problems connecting.
First tip:
Update the client from here: https://www.mumble.info/downloads/
Search the “Download Mumble” section and just choose the Operating System you use and click the link in the Stable Release column. After downloading (mumble-”something”.msi) just click the next until it’s installed/updated and ready to use :)
Second tip:
Try disabling QOS:
Click "Configure" => "Settings". Look down to the bottom left corner and activate the "Advanced" checkbox. Click on "Network" on the left side panel. Under "Connection", deactivate "Use Quality of Service". Try reconnecting to your server.
If none of these works then something went really wrong there o_O
